Leccinum roseofractum Watling Grauer Rauhfuss Blushing Bolete. Cap 7–13cm across, umber to brownish-black, greasy at first then dry and splitting into small scales at centre. Stem 80´25mm, white with mouse-grey scales which gradually darken towards the base. Flesh white gradually turning coral then vinaceous on cutting. Taste and smell not distinctive. Tubes white becoming flushed slightly ochraceous. Pores similarly coloured. Spore print ochraceous snuff-brown. Spores subfusiform, 15.5–17.5´5–5.5m. Habitat with birch. Season autumn. Occasional. Edible – not worthwhile. Found In Europe. |
